This is a very interesting specimen, originally from the middle Jurassic of the English Midlands (see pl 25 in British Mesozoic Fosils). About a half of the final whorl is well-preserved shell with strong ribbing well shown. But the most striking feature is the beautiful pattern, of more than a dozen deeply-dissolved sutures, several right across the shell, and many more partially shown. The sample comes from Pleistocene gravels in Northampton, so must have been reworked.
